The Sound of Bermuda Records (T.S.O.B.) is a Bermuda record label owned by Darryl Simons.
Darryl has accumulated over 30 years of professional recording and live performance experience, both in Bermuda and Internationally. Darryl, (aka "Poppa D') was also one of the original members of the Group Bermuda, which was the only Bermudian act to open for the island's first major concert, Summerfest, a 3 day event, put on by the late Julian Hall.
As a result, the Group Bermuda opened for Ramsey Lewis, Tavares, Wild Cherry, Brass Construction, Al Green and Richie Havens, top chart recording artists of the era and became sought after by Donald Byrd (The Blackbirds), Kat Stevens and Quincy Jones. Donald Byrd signed the Group Bermuda to Elektra Asylum records and hence the Group Bermuda became the first recording group to emerge out of the island of Bermuda.
Consequently, Darryl's recording level skill set lifted his notoriety on the island and he was able to parlay that experience into being the most requested organist for the many churches in Bermuda. Darryl's vocal arrangement expertise (honed by Seth Riggs instruction in Los Angeles) led to many Choir Director positions over the years. This fueled a unique opportunity for Darryl to purchase Bermuda Sound Studios after the Engineer and Owner, the late Ian Marshall, passed and left the studio up for grabs.
Today, Darryl has invested several years and tons of $'s to outfit this studio with state-of-the-art technology in an acoustically perfect sound stage, which has now become Bermuda Bass Hits Studio.
Bermuda Bass Hits Studio serves as the recording studio behind The Sound of Bermuda Records (T.S.O.B.), which is currently opening world wide distribution channels for it's resulting recordings.
